Dear Senator Colburn:

On behalf of the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, Salisbury University, I would like to thank you for helping to support our newest project, "Access the Humanities in Your Community."

We have been awarded grant by the Maryland Humanities Council to fund the initiative, which hopes to broaden our impact to help cultural conservation and preservation on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The "Access Humanities in your Community" project is a series of capactiy building public programs that will enable individuals and organizations to preserve, promote and present the humanities based resources of their community. Through a total of seventeen sessions, occurring in four clusters, topics will be presented concerning the preservation and presentation of the lifeways of the Eastern Shore. By revealing both the mechanism and the product of humanities based research, individuals and organizations will be armed with the knowledge to actualize projects in their own back yards, with the goal of building and expanding the grassroots capacity in the region.

Thanks to your help we can continue in the process of education and enabling people in the region to better document and understand the communities of Delmarva.

Sincerely,

Dan Parson
