ANNAPOLIS — Sen. Richard Colburn, R-Mid-Shore, was honored recently by being named the ranking member of the Senate’s Education, Health and Environmental Affairs Committee.

This new title recognizes Colburn as the most senior member of the committee from the Republican side of the aisle. Being the ranking member of this committee will give Colburn more influence and credibility on many issues that affect life on the Shore, most notably the Chesapeake Bay, he said.

The senator said he feels “honored to be recognized for my work and leadership on issues that affect watermen and the Chesapeake Bay.”
