Senator
Colburn Announces Re-election Bid Cambridge, Maryland - Senator Richard F.
Colburn (r-37th district) announced at his annual banquet that he would
run for re-election to the Senate in 2006. Senator Colburn emphasized
his pro-business voting record, his work with the agriculture and seafood
industries as well as veterans groups and volunteer fire companies.
He also spoke of his long involvement in many Eastern Shore transportation
improvement projects-the Malkus Bridge (over the Choptank River); the
Vienna and Sharptown bridges (over the Nanticoke River); and the Salisbury
bypass. Colburn stated, "I want to continue to press for the dualization
of Maryland Route 404, completion of a new Dover bridge (over the Choptank
River), and to address municipal highway safety and traffic concerns
in Easton, East New Market, Oxford, Preston, Queen Anne and Hillsboro
as well as across the 37th District." |
